The SINETZ FAQ (frequently asked questions) provides technical solutions for general problems with the program system SINETZ and additional programs.
Program users under a valid maintenance contract are individually supported by the software hotline.

1.1      

The SINETZ demo program is not able to carry out any calculation

 

The programs on the Demo CD show the entire range of functions, but it is not possible to carry out calculations or to save projects. Calculated sample files are included and may be added by using the command FILE|OPEN.

3.1      

SINETZ cannot detect the copy protection module (hardlock, dongle)

 

The program SINETZ does not run without the copy protection module (hardlock). In case of errors in connection with the copy protection module please check the installation process by means of the installation manual or contact the program support team.

 

3.2      

The installation with USB copy protection plug causes problems.

Do NOT plug in the USB module before you are asked by the installation program!

3.4      

Which operating system is the best for SINETZ, which OS is supported by SINETZ?

We recommend the installation of SINETZ under Windows XP/VISTA / Windows 7 (see below)

 

3.5      

I want to install SINETZ on a PC running Windows 95 /NT 4.0

 

Installation under Windows 95 /NT 4.0 is not possible with SINETZ 3.4 or higher.

 

3.6      

How to remove SINETZ from the PC (De-Installation, Uninstall, Remove)?

Refer to the chapter „Uninstall SINETZ“ in the current SINETZ installation manual.

Is SINETZ running under Microsoft Windows VISTA (TM)?

 

SINETZ 3.4 or higher is running under Microsoft VISTA (TM)

 

 

3.8      

My SINETZ program license expires (time-limited license, rent) How to continue the program use? Is there a short-term possibility to get a new license key?

The program may be continued by renewing the license. Please contact the SINETZ Sales Department

Normally the program use can be continued after unlocking the program hardlock by a file. This file can be sent by email.

I have got a SINETZ program CD. How can I be sure to use the latest program release?

Check the current state of your program by means of HELP| INFO in SINETZ

I received a SINETZ update CD /program CD. I do not know if it is required to update by CD, though SINETZ continuously is updated via online update.

Updating the program:
The online updates, integrated in the program SINETZ are updating nothing more than the installed program version (e.g. 3.4) An update from 3.3c to 34 via internet-update is not available.
For that reason it is required to use the current Program CD SINETZ (3.4) to update to a higher program version.

How can I get updates?

SINETZ is updated via Internet connection.
The program and the additional modules is checked and modified continuously.

The current updates are delivered by the built-in Internet update function, requiring:
using the manual update function or a not "switched-off" automatic update, a valid maintenance contract and the ability to connect via Internet.
Check the current state of your program by means of HELP| INFO in SINETZ. There is no downloadable SINETZ update file in the internet. The update function exclusively runs over the update commands in SINETZ
If you are not able to get an update, please check the requirements above and/or contact the SINETZ Program support.

 

3.12  

SINETZ 3.4 requires the activation of the program (license activation)
What does that mean?

The program licenses needs to be activated during installation or at first program start. The required key is stored in a database, to be accessed by internet connection. If no Internet connection is available, please contact the program support for a license key.

Get the activation code by phone or email from the SINETZ user support.
In this dialog the license information is transmitted, (in this case
SINETZ_34__XXL_-0000001)
The input can be done manually or by copy & paste of the written code line, sent by email

3.13  

What is the difference between Activation and Unlocking?

Activation is required at installation or first start of the program license. The activation code is stored in a database, accessible by the program via internet. If there is no internet connection available the activation code can be entered manually. Please contact the program support for activation code in this case.

 

The UNLOCK process is different from activation: unlocking concerns time limitation of program licenses (rental licenses).

 

3.14  

Can SINETZ be installed under Microsoft Windows 7 (TM)?

 

SINETZ 3.4 or higher is running under Microsoft 7 (TM)

In case of new installation under Windows 7, the hardlock driver has to be installation before the program setup is started. The hardlock driver is not included in the current program -CD SINETZ 3.4 The program support will send it upon request.

3.15  

Installation fails under Windows 7, 64-bit

The problem occurs under Windows 7 64 bit auf. In this case there are some problems when checking and installing the driver.

 

Please contact the ROHR2/SINETZ support for more details and a path to download the necessary files.

- Load the hardlock driver for  Windows 7:

Copy the file haspdinst.exe from  *.zip into a directory on your harddisk.

Install the driver by typing

haspdinst.exe /install

in the command line of this directory..

The symbols /icons (e.g. support conditions, text, etc.) / the tool bars are disappeared.

 

Reset the toolbars by the function View| Reset toolbar positions
Click the right mouse button into the range of the tool bars to open the dialog window and select the visible toolbars.

4.2      

How to edit a changed company address company address?
I want to insert/edit my company logo.

Insert/Edit your company address and logo in
Options > General Settings > Register Print.

The program support cannot insert a company logo into your  program installation

4.3      

The menu function Help| Contents does not work

The menu function Help| Contents opens the SINETZ pdf-Index enabling an index search through all pdf-documents, stored in the directory  R2MANUAL.

There may be a missing or wrong link to the Index file: the assignment of the file extension *.pdx to the Adobe document index is not correct.

Solution:
1.New installation of the Adobe Reader
or
2. Enter the PDF_Reader entry into the SNW_XXX.INI file manually
 
open the SNW_XXX.INI file
(\.Documents and settings\User\User data\SINETZ\SNW_XXX.INI)
in a word processor/text editor
complete the line
PDF_READER=
by the path names of the installed pdf program (e.g. Adobe Reader) – refer to examples

There are missing parts in the pipe when the geometry is imported by a CAD interface /NTR

There may be gaps in the pipe at seals, if they are not imported as specified components
Fill the gaps by the option „GAP“ in the NTR-file.

Adobe pdf Document. Download Adobe Reader (Version 6.0 or higher)

Online Video file in Flash-format. It requires the installation of a flash plug-in into your web browser.
For best results the Microsoft internet explorer is recommended.

Downloadable AVI-Video compressed in zip file. Recommended to show the movies without flash plug-in on various Media players. After download, please unpack the movie to your hard disk.

 

If the movies do not start, please install this video codec
